The capital of Colombia, Bogota, is the home for 7 million people and is located at an elevation of 2650 m on a plateau in the Andes. It offers various activities, Columbian art and beautiful colonial style architecture that contrast with the modern skyscrapers of metropolis. Visit to the National Museum of Colombia, La Plaza de Bolivar government buildings, historical churches or the Mount Monserrate – excellent place to view the panorama of the city. On the next day have a local breakfast in Paloquemao market before you head to Villa de Leyva, visiting the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral en route. It is a unique Roman Catholic Church developed in an old salt mines in the depth of 180 m opened in 1995. In the next day's afternoon have a flight to the coffee region of Columbia – Armenia to learn about the coffee culture, to visit a farm, local villages and to spend two nights in a villa - hacienda. Haciendas are traditional villas featuring the region of Central America that once were part of a farm, plantation or production.
Continue adventure with a hike to Valle de Cocora and reach the city of Salento by the evening to find out about coffee more. Drive through the stunning landscape to Medellin and enjoy a neighbourhood tour of the city. On the next day have a flight to Cartagena by the coast of the Caribbean Sea. This is the most famous and the most visited city in Colombia with remarkable historic sites. Visit to the highlights of Cartagena, the fortress known as Castillo de San Felipe, La Popa hill viewpoint which overlooks the city and harbour, and sightsee the city churches and modern beachfront area of Bocagrande. One of the most popular activities to choose is the night drive in a disco-bus 'chiva'. Enjoy the music and the city atmosphere.
