Discover vastness of Mongolia, lifestyle of nomads, enjoy the beauty of nature and experience the most important national festival - Naadam.
Arrive to, Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia and take your time to explore the city as there are no group activities planned in the first evening. This is a former Russian protectorate with the featuring architectural style remains alongside the traditional Mongolian gers and modern shops. On the streets you can observe nomads on horseback sharing the road with cars, traditionally dressed people and people in fashion garments and furs. This is definitely one of the cities of contrasts. The Museum of Natural History with its dinosaur exhibits is great to explore, as is the Winter Palace Museum of Bogd Khan and its great collections, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Choijin Lama Temple Museum with displays of Buddhist artefacts. You will return to Ulaanbaatar in the final part of the tour. On the next day take the remote and bumpy road to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. This is the second most important monastery in Mongolia located in the foot of Burenkhan Mountain. Experience just how remote and endless the Mongolian countryside is and enjoy the stay in your first ger camp. Continue the way to the River Selenge, hike the volcanic crater and meet the nomad family. Nomads live a very simple life and move forth with their cattle along the same route like their great-grandparents did hundreds of years ago. This is also great opportunity to learn about their culture and try traditional meals. On the next day enjoy a picturesque drive to Khovsgol Lake, the largest in Mongolia. Take a chance to try numerous optional activities like horseback riding, archery, fishing and hiking. The protected National Park has spectacular scenery of evergreen forests, flowering meadows, grasslands and small streams.

Then have a longer drive through the stunning Lake District of Mongolia, enjoy the scenery of the wild nature and reach the Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur – the Great White Lake by the evening. Spend a night in a small ger camp on Zuun Lake. Enjoy the hike to climb the crater of the nearby volcano and crawl inside the lava tubes. The afternoon is at leisure to take options including fishing, horse riding or chatting with locals. Afterwards drive to the Tsenher hot springs, visiting a town of Tsetserleg with a monastery museum en route. Have an overnight stay in a ger camp based at natural hot springs and take a chance of non-traditional spa experience, soaking in hot water under an open sky. On the next day drive to a ger camp on the fringes of sand dunes to get an impression of how vast the desert can be. Take an option of hiking to a small oasis lake to watch a variety of birds and frogs in their natural habitat, visit to a nearby ancient figure stone carving, and, of course, don't miss a sunset. Return to Ulaanbaatar for the Naadam Festival in the final part of the tour. Naadam is "eriin gurvan naadam" or "the three games of men" that include Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery. This is one of the most important local culture events with 800 years long history. The tradition started when the leaders of the Mongolian clans, after negotiations and truce, competed among themselves to demonstrate the skills. As well you will see the opening and closing ceremonies of Naadam Festival. Take your free time to see more of Ulaanbaatar.
