During this tour you will travel Thailand and Malaysia, starting your trip in Bangkok and closing it in Singapore.
Bangkok will surprise you by charming blend of architecture and penetration of modern life in an ancient environment, where modern skyscrapers are changed by traditional Chinese shops and Mercedes cars shoulder rickshaws in the narrow streets of city. Learn the culture by attending old castles, pagodas and don't miss the local markets. Explore the city gliding through the channels and visit the Wat Po - home of the giant Reclining Buddha. However, don't be upset if you have not managed to see everything you wanted in the beginning since you will return to Bangkok in the course of the tour. In the evening you will go to Chiang Mai for an optional visit of Doi Suthep temple, markets, with a long history of silverwork, woodcarving, pottery-making and weaving, attend a cooking class, or have a hike or a bicycle ride in vicinity. Since the 14th century Chiang Mai has been an important Buddhism centre with more than 300 temples. Many visitors come here to attend meditation retreats, massage classes and yoga lessons.
Then have a 3-day hilltribe trek to visit various hilltribe minority groups, each with its own language, clothing and religion. Take an advantage to stop at the stunning Mork Fa Waterfall, enjoy the elephant ride and test your rafting skills while bamboo rafting (seasonally). During whole trip you will enjoy traditional food. Return to Chiang Mai, which you already know a bit, and go back to Bangkok to continue exploration of the city. On the next evening you will travel to the south of Thailand and the islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, which will greet you with coconut palms and white sand beaches. Spend a day snorkelling, hiking, taking part in yoga classes or simply relaxing.
After relaxation on the tropic islands you will go to Nakhon Si Thammarat in Thailand to see the Buddhist temples, mosques and the 17th century European factories and houses - relics of a time when this city was a major trading hub. Then take an option of a bicycle-rickshaw to see Penang, visit the markets and temples, the Chinatown and the Little India, as well as enjoy different cuisines of these cultures. On the next day you will hike the Cameron Highlands, which is famous for its tea plantations and strawberry farms. In Kuala Lumpur you can visit Petronas Towers, Chinatown, KL Tower, Islamic Arts Museum, or leave the town for Batu Caves, which is sacred place for Hindi. However, in the old port town Melaka you can visit museums, markets, local restaurants, and explore the city in a channel boat cruise.
