Japan Rail Pass allows travelling the country by train and to have significant savings in comparison to purchase of separate railway tickets on the spot in Japan.
Japan Rail Pass offers two level rail passes:

- Ordinary
Purchase conditions:
Get your Rail Pass in the Japan Rail office in Japan, by changing the voucher you have bought in Latvia (voucher is valid only for the person specified on it, so, please, prepare the passport).
Children under 6 years of age can travel free of charge (without a separate seat).
Discounts for children from 6 to 11 years of age.
When changing the voucher to the Rail Pass, please, specify the first day of use (any date within the period of the next 30 days).
Terms of use:
The validity term of the Japan Rail Pass is 7, 14, or 21 days after the first day of use.
Book the place in a train upon receipt of the Japan Rail Pass, or just before the trip in Japan Rail office.
Japan Rail Pass can be used in certain buses and on ferries (for more detailed information, please, consult the Estravel Latvia travel agent).

The train Allegro goes from Helsinki to Sankt-Petersburg and since late 2014 clients can combine a Finnair international flight to Allegro train service with a Finnair ticket; moreover, the ticket allows a stopover in Helsinki. However, the train Lev Tolstoy by Russian Railways RZD can take you to Moscow.
